Brazil’s young Democracy is only 30 plus years old, it is a relatively new democracy in the hemisphere. Brasil is trying real hard to get it right but there are ‘powers to be on the right’ that just won’t let that happen, and more than 50% of the Senators in the Congress of Brasil are still to this day facing charges of accepting bribes and corruption. I hope Bolsonaro doesn’t go on to ruin Brazil’s young and fragile democracy – I spent years living in Brazil and I have many friends there so I hope it’s going to be okay – but sometimes hope is just not enough. Viva Brasil!
