Rede Bandeirantes, Portal R7 and Jovem Pan are swinging the cradle of Bolsonaro. It is in them that Jair will trust from next year – its owners hope, of course, that he is the new president. I plan to return to TVs and also to Folha’s decision not to call Bolsonaro “far right” in a post on the website next week if he can get more details. Today I’m going to talk about R7 , Edir Macedo’s news portal.
I spent the week listening to people writing this newsletter for you and I’m going to do something that we do not usually do in TIB: giving behind-the-scenes information that we can show publicly. I know, and you know, that the agreement between the press and the public has been broken, and that no one else has an obligation to believe in a journalist just because … well, because he is a journalist. Only it was difficult to get information to write this, and I promised not to publish e-mails and internal circulars of the vehicles. Journalists are scared of what’s to come.
What follows is an account of someone working on R7. I’ll let him tell the story to you. I’ll see you next week. Up until.
