Hayes: We Should Run The Presidential Election The Way We Run EVERY Other Election. | All In | MSNBC

I have been watching MSNBC ‘groom’ Chris for at least 2 years now. Being honest, he was quite awkward and a little insecure as he worked his way through the Gauntlet that is MSNBCs training/trials period. But you can see he is a smart guy and has lots to say and many informed opinions, he has “hit his stride” in this arena of his own ‘live’ audience/show. YOU GO CHRIS!! 👍👀😊

BTW THE ‘MONKEY-FINGER’ IS TO ALEXANDER HAMILTON AND GOP SENATE BOTH, who I personally CAN’T STAND — NOT AGAINST MSNBC OR CHRIS!!

But there is ONE HUGE THING I beg to differ with Chris in his/this segment. In this segment speaking on the Electoral College, he says; “the electoral college was created because the ‘founding fathers’ felt the average person was INCAPABLE of Voting due to ignorance of the “issues” of the day – think Alexander Hamilton who was a radical, misogynistic tyrant who happened to be a principal within “The Founders” house during the Continental Congress as the first Congress wrote the Constitution. I DO NOT LIKE ANYTHING ABOUT ALEXANDER!!!!!!

In fact – the REAL reason the Electoral College was conceived was because ‘the average’ voter/citizen was UNABLE OR UNWILLING TO LEAVE HIS PROPERTY & FAMILY AND TAKE A ONE WEEK LONG TRIP VIA HORSEBACK TO THE NEAREST POLLING STATION TO CAST HIS VOTE! ALSO — THERE WERE NO CENTRALIZED NEWS OUTLETS INFORMING CITIZENS OF THE LATEST ON WHAT “THEIR GOVERNMENT” WAS UP TO” and thus able to make INFORMED decisions to things so serious as ELECTIONS OF REPRESENTATIVES!
So the Electoral College was created to allow the voter to ‘register’ his vote with a representative of the College who would have to be trusted to inform the voters of what the principal issues were but to also carry his vote through the proper channels! THAT is why the Electoral College was conceived and enacted WITHIN the Constitution!! NOT BECAUSE THE FOUNDING FATHERS – LIKE ALEXANDER HAMILTON IS QUOTED AS SAYING, the people are TOO IGNORANT TO BE TRUSTED WITH SUCH COMPLEX AND SERIOUS ISSUES”.

Chris Hayes explains why the weirdest thing about the Electoral College is that if it wasn’t specifically in the Constitution, it would be unconstitutional.
