  1. This is around 50% accurate, which maybe is better than 0% accurate – I don’t know. I have so many comments I think I will do a post and push for a boycott of John Oliver. His saying F-you over his getting a talent visa says it all about the attitude of most of the recent immigrants (last 25 plus years). He’s funny to watch a few times but not that funny. My blood was boiling by the opening when he suggested US farmers should drop dead and make room for immigrants. Talent should be for inventors or something useful. Or let the refugees come. Furthermore, British Americans have no right to go work in the UK or Europe. So, why can they come here? In fact, the UK’s membership in the EU worked against what could have been my fantastic career in France. I needed a job to stay and write my dissertation, after my coursework, but without the doctorate could not stay. So, I return back to lose funding and jobs to immigrants.

We could watch him be funny on youtube in London. I am sure there are Americans who are more funny than this clown. The only honest immigrant that I have met is one who joined their brother and decided later to go home. That person told me it was wrong that they have a brother teaching in the USA and I can’t. That person had to pay to get rid of US citizenship for their son, because it was a tax liability, and he could go to university for free back home. John Oliver reminds me of a French immigrant I woke up thinking about recently. He was actually teaching university English (go figure) in the same period there was a suicide of an American PhD in English nearby. The American lady couldn’t get a job and apparently had no one to live off of and so killed herself. Sometime in the last decades the university apparently thought better of having a Frenchman with a strong accent and a nervous sniffle teaching English and he became a chef and librarian in another state. Cooking and librarian are the traditional positions of American women. And, even though women shouldn’t be stuck in traditional jobs, it’s better than no job.
