The Senate voted to block any witnesses from being called in President Donald Trump’s impeachment trial, a move that will mark the beginning of the end of the third Senate trial for a president in US history. The Senate voted 51-49 to defeat a motion to allow subpoenas for witnesses and documents, with two Republicans, Sens. Susan Collins of Maine and Mitt Romney of Utah, joining Democrats to back extending the trial.

  1. They still could vote to impeach, though I wouldn’t hold my breath. It is true that there was enough evidence though Bolton would have been better. Then they would have had to grill Biden to pacify the Republicans, disrupting the primaries more than they have. If I were voting to impeach I would hold my cards close until the vote.

    • The only way to survive in the Senate is to keep your mouth closed, your activities concealed and hold votes to the last minute.. I agree there is still a ‘scintilla’ of hope but that’s about all.. BTW – what IS a ‘scintilla’.. LOLROTF 😳😊
