Coronavirus: How the deadly epidemic sparked a global emergency | Four Corners
In Wuhan, China people are getting a knock on the door and when they answer right away a thermometer aims at their forehead – if it shows a temp. above normal your are gang-rushed by a group of police and dragged kicking and screaming out of your house and taken into quarantine custody, restrained and delivered to a treatment center – LIKE IT OR NOT! WTF?? THEN they’re told if they speak out or complain to ANYONE you will be prosecuted and sentenced. WOW!! CHINA is just RUTHLESS!
It’s likened to a scene from an apocalypse. Wuhan — a city more populous than London or New York — placed in ‘lockdown’ following the outbreak of the new and deadly coronavirus. In China, more than two thousand people have died, with tens of thousands more infected, and authorities are resorting to extreme measures to try to halt the contagion. In interviews filmed on smartphones, Chinese activists and Australians trapped in the lockdown explain what they are going through. Four Corners charts how the outbreak occurred and investigates whether a cover-up by Chinese authorities allowed the virus to spread.
